ANTONIO
When I was born, Antonio had already spent a year at the farm of my grandmother, Gutiérrez Velasco, “Guti” to us. There we spent the three summer months, surrounded by trees, fields, oaks, chickens, cows and turkeys. With Antonio I learned about the countryside and we maintained a great friendship until his death. One day I decided to film a conversation between us with the camera. Antonio began to tell me about my grandparents, about his life before coming to “Guti”, his memories of the war and his work in the fields. I was unaware of most of it. It was supposed to be one of the many talks we were going to film. But it was not to be. Antonio is a portrait of an era, unknown today.
